My main responsibility is the management of Old Mutual’s business by managing the sales and sales support processes through other managers and their teams, over periods of 3 months to 1 year to ensure branch profitability and to meet business targets, within our area budget.
I manage the HR function for the Area as well as all day-to-day staff administration and hold first line managers accountable for managerial work, including selection, performance management and talent management.
I develop the local market & resource plan for area and am responsible for external relationship management with key stakeholders for which I need the ability to make balanced and sound recommendations and decisions, by understanding issues and problems, evaluating the consequences of alternative solutions and to select the most appropriate alternative. Recommendations and decisions need to be implementable, effective and well thought through.
I generate innovative solutions in work situations; applying "out of the box" thinking and challenging the status quo in dealing with work problems and opportunities by Using appropriate interpersonal styles and communication techniques to gain acceptance of ideas or plans; adapting one's own style to accommodate the target audience.

In conclusion, I establish a course of action for myself and others to ensure that goals are achieved. This includes the effective management of time and resources; and the ability to adapt plans when appropriate.
